This is an essential one-day course for Foundation Year Doctors focuses on key surgical skills including knot tying and suturing. It also includes a demonstration and practice experience of surgical scrub technique and the donning of a surgical gown and gloves. Students also gain access to theoretical sessions on-line – available prior to and after the course.

Some of the topics to be covered will include:

• Discussion re: Theatre Etiquette
• Demonstration and of surgical scrub technique, surgical gowning & gloving (including practice donning of surgical gown & gloves)
• Handling Instruments
• Knot tying
  Surgical, Surgeons , Instrument knots
• Wound Closure techniques
  Simple interrupted, Vertical mattress suturing, Drain fixation
  Insertion of surgical skin stapling & the application of surgical glue
• Minor surgical lesions
  

There are only 20 places available on each course and these places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

The course fee is £150.00

Please note, in the event of a cancelled booking a 15% administration fee will be charged if it is a minimum of 4 weeks before the course and 25% if cancelled within 4 four weeks of the course commencing.
