This course is aimed at newly qualified or recently appointed staff new to the operating theatre/perioperative environment. Its purpose is to support these staff in gaining the appropriate skills to enable them to function effectively in the perioperative environment. This course would not be appropriate for registered Operating Department Practitioners.

This course is aimed at qualified theatre staff holding a registrable qualification. Its purpose is to support these staff in gaining the appropriate skills to enable them to function effectively in the perioperative environment as an Advanced Scrub Practitioner. This course is partly face to face and partly online and is classed as a part-time study programme. It can be accessed via a number of routes which are open to all students and has four start dates per annum.
