Course overview:

Professional Education in Practice Ltd introduce a new Refresher Course for the experienced Advanced Scrub Practitioner/Surgical First Assistant. The course will aim to provide an update on issues relevant to clinical practice and will offer the opportunity to learn new skills and refresh existing competency and knowledge. During the course students will be offered the opportunity to attend a variety of Zoom lectures, covering key issues such as ‘Updates on Medical Legal Aspects for the Assistant Role’ and ‘Lessons Learned from working as an as an Assistant during a Pandemic’. There will also be an opportunity to discuss personal and professional developments and explore the transition from an Advanced Scrub Practitioner/Surgical First Assistant to a Surgical Care Practitioner, looking at the educational route and associated local requirements and specialities.

Students will receive 8 hours of teaching and the relevant course materials and Zoom details will be sent three days prior to the commencement of the course. On completion of the course and attendance at all Zoom sessions students will receive a certificate of attendance.

This is an excellent opportunity to refresh your knowledge of some of the content of your original course, as well as to gain insight into new developments. It will also provide an opportunity for networking with others undertaking the same role.
