Overview of the course:
This is an essential study day for healthcare practitioners who need the theoretical and practice experience of both male and female catheterisation.
The aim of the course is to:
- Provide theoretical support to the practical training to facilitate further practical experience undertaken in the practitioners own workplace.
- Provide a structured approach to the development of knowledge and skills that will enable practitioners to care effectively and safely for patients undergoing urinary catheterisation.
- Enable critical examination of the delivery of evidence-based care for the patient undergoing urinary catheterisation
- Promote the development of a critical understanding of the professional, ethical and legal implications of undertaking urinary catheterisation
